They passed their tax plan. It’s poorly written, augmented at the last minute with chicken scratch and notes.
No one in the administration ran any numbers on it, but they swear it’s wonderful for the little guy. Everyone who actually has run numbers on it says it’s horrible. Every economist who has reviewed it, is against it.
It was written to benefit large corporations, and wealthy people by raising taxes on people who can’t afford food and shelter at the same time… because there’s a lot more of us to tax. Don’t take my word for it, Lindsey Graham said so himself. And he added that they had to do it, or else none of their fat cat donors will donate to them anymore. So for those keeping score, that’s an open admission that money and power are more important than their constituents well-being. Period.
The percentage of people getting hopelessly screwed by this bill is so high that it makes a super-majority look small. We far outnumber them almost 100 to 1.
(I should also add, the multiple guilty pleas that already appear indicate that the current administration usurped democracy in its quest for power…)
If this isn’t a time for open revolt, I’m not sure what is.
“…when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
